Gundam (ガンダム, Gandamu?) is a metaseries of Japanese anime created by Sunrisemecha") called "Gundam". The metaseries started in April 7, 1979 as a serial TV show called Mobile Suit Gundam. That first TV series has since spawned a franchise that has come to include works released in numerous media. Titles have appeared in the form of multiple television series and OVAs, movies, manga, novels and video games, among other modes. The story from the original 1979 series has been considerably extended with sequels, prequels, side stories and alternate timelines. As a result, the title "Gundam" has become a collective term for the seven distinct but related timelines that can be pieced together from the stories that appear in the Gundam franchise.

Generally speaking, the timelines do not intersect, but they do contain a few common elements such as the titular war machines called Gundam. Perkembangan dalam teknologi kecerdasan buatan (artifical intelligence/AI) itu dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Stanford Pieter Abbeel, Adam Coates, Tomothy Hunter dan Morgan Quigley. Mereka melakukannya di bawah bimbingan Andrew Ng.

The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) defines robot as follows: "A robot is a reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools or specialized devices through variable programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks." Recently, however, the industry's current working definition of a robot has come to be understood as any piece of equipment that has three or more degrees of movement or freedom.

Robotics is an increasingly visible and important component of modern business, especially in certain industries. Robotics-oriented production processes are most obvious in factories and manufacturing facilities; in fact, approximately 90 percent of all robots in operation today can be found in such facilities. These robots, termed "industrial robots," were found almost exclusively in automobile manufacturing plants 20 years ago. But industrial robots are now being used in laboratories, research and development facilities, warehouses, hospitals, energy-oriented industries (petroleum, nuclear power, etc.), and, above all, in research.

Scoop: New video of BDI's Big Dog robot

Boston Dynamics has just released a brand new video of their DARPA-funded Big Dog robot. Big Dog, the older brother of the Little Dog robot we covered a while back, is meant to be a "pack mule" for soldiers some day. Behind Big Dog is some pretty cool force-controlled technology. With its quadruped gait it can regain balance if it's kicked, handle rough terrain like rocks, and climb inclines up to 35 deg. In this new video, in addition to some footage from previous videos, you can see it handling slippery ice, slopes in deep snow, and demoing its new walking gait.

About halfway through is the ice part -- this thing is better than I am at regaining balance. There's also a demo of it carrying a 340 lb load, much heavier than it has managed in the past. And I LOVE the hopping/jumping at the end. One warning, you might want to turn off your sound, since as awesome as this guy is, the gas engine is very loud and very annoying.

Major technology includes stable dynamic walking and running, full arm movement allowing throwing a ball, voice/face recognition, stereoscopic vision, obstacle avoidance, visual mapping, wireless network. Its "pinch detection" senses if a finger is caught in its joints - a major step to a robot tactile sense.

The new 2005 QRIO robot shows advanced features, including a "third eye" camera which allows it to notice and track individuals in a group of people. The new model also has improved dexterity - the fingers actually work! In a December 2005 demonstration, QRIO showed off its ability to identify blocks by size and color, lift them using its lower body and stack one on top of the other.

TOBOR, THE GREAT

“TOBOR, THE GREAT” – FOUND AFTER 50’s YEARS!!! Last November I got a call from my good friend Fred Barton – aka The-Robotman, and he told me that he had discovered the whereabouts of the one and only original Tobor, the Great from the 1954 Republic Pictures film. The Tobor robot prop has been missing for over 50 years and was presumed lost or destroyed. Fred wanted to fly-up and check out the claim that Tobor in fact had survived in tact all these years and that this was indeed the same one as used in the movie. He asked if I wanted to join him on this once in a lifetime find. I was only to glad to be a part of this. Fred and I had been wanting to build a Tobor for years and when this opportunity came up, it was just too good to pass up. So, we flew out there and sure enough, it was Tobor and in pristine condition. As it turned out, Tobor has been safely stored along with his space age remote control in a private collection for over 50 years where he remains today and likely until the end of time. It was an amazing find and I was stoked to be able to be part of his resurrection. Fred and I tore the costume apart looking for tells to authenticate the prop and after careful inspection, there was little doubt that this was Tobor.

It is a subject of debate in Nationalist circles as to the real extent of "Jewish genius." More significantly, for a cacophony of sound is as naught to scientific confusion and disarray, we are subjected to the deification of Einstein, whose questionable theories are treated as if they had been given on tablets of stone; the disastrous influence of the cocaine-inspired ramblings of Freud, a.k.a. King Anus; the mendacious anthropological convolutions of Boas; and this unholy trinity is but the tip of a diabolical iceberg, displacing the greater minds and honest instincts of scientists of European stock whose names we have never heard.

Sonora Dodd, of Washington, first had the idea of a "father's day." She thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Sonora wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart. Smart, who was a Civil War veteran, was widowed when his wife died while giving birth to their sixth child. Mr. Smart was left to raise the newborn and his other five children by himself on a rural farm in eastern Washington state. After Sonora became an adult she realized the selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910. President Calvin Coolidge, in 1924, supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law which finally made it permanent in 1972.

In 2015, Powell, Donovan and Robot SPD-13 (aka "Speedy") are sent to Mercury to restart operations at a mining station which was abandoned ten years before. They discover that the photo-cell banks that provide life support to the base are short on selenium and will soon fail. The nearest selenium pool is seventeen miles away, and since Speedy can withstand Mercury’s high temperatures, Donovan sends him to get it. Powell and Donovan become worried when they realize that Speedy has not returned after five hours. They use a more primitive robot to retrieve Speedy and try to analyze what happened to it. When they eventually find Speedy, they discover he is running in a huge circle around a selenium pool. Further, they notice that "Speedy’s gait [includes] a peculiar rolling stagger, a noticeable side-to-side lurch"[1]. When Speedy is asked to return with the selenium, he begins talking oddly ("Hot dog, let’s play games. You catch me and I catch you; no love can cut our knife in two" and quoting Gilbert and Sullivan). Speedy continues....

Di dalam fiksyen sains, Tiga Hukum Robotik merujuk kepada satu set tiga hukum yang diguna pakai pada hampir kesemua robot yang dicipta oleh manusia.Terma ini digunakan dalam cerpen Runaround karya Isaac Asimov pada tahun 1942.
Tiga Hukum itu ialah,

1. Robot tidak boleh mencederakan manusia, ataupun secara berdiam diri membiarkan manusia dicederakan.

2. Robot mesti mematuhi segala perintah manusia selagi tidak bercanggah dengan hukum pertama.

3. Robot mestilah melindungi kewujudannya selagi mana perlindunga tersebut tidak bercanggah dengan Hukum pertama dan Hukum kedua

Kemudia Asimov menambahkan sebuah lagi hukum iaitu hukum sifar iaitu robot tidak boleh mengancam kemanusiaan, ataupun secara berdiam diri membiarkan manusia diancam.

Untuk pengetahuan semua, perkataan robotic telah digunakan buat pertama kalinya oleh Isaac Asimov, iaitu dalam novel pendek sainsnya iaitu "Runaround", telah diterbitkan pada mac 1942 di Astounding Science Fiction.Sementara, ia berkaitan dengan perkataan "robot" yang telah direka oleh ahli novel sains author karel Capek, Isaac Asimov tidak menyedari yang dia telah mereka sebuah tema baru dalam sains robot.Sebuah peralatan electrik akan dipanggil elektronik, jadi untuk robot pula ia dipanggil robotic.Sebelum perkataan robotic, terdapat lagi gelaran lain iaitu namely automata dan androids yang telah diperkenalkan pada 7 atau 8 abad BC.Robot digunakan dalam perindustrian, ketenteraan, penerokaan, pembantu dalam rumah(LOL) dan dalam kerja pemebelajaran dan pencarian maklumat.
